Marta Kratochvílová

Marta Kratochvílová is a sought-after player of historical flutes. After graduating from the Conservatory in Pardubice and JAMU in Brno, she studied in France at the Conservatoire National de Région de Strasbourg, where she specialized in modern and historical transverse flutes.

In France, until 2010, she worked intensively as a player of baroque and renaissance flute, e.g. in the ensembles Le Parlement de Musique, Bohemia duo, NotaBene. In the framework of Renaissance workshops (Ferrara, Munich, Stuttgart, Basel) she regularly performed with the Consort of Renaissance Flutes from Strasbourg. She currently lives in the Czech Republic and regularly performs throughout Europe. She mainly performs chamber and solo projects with artists such as Aline Zylberajch, Iva Bittová, Martin Gester, Christophe Coin, Jan Čižmář, Karel Fleischlinger, Marian Friedl, Joel Frederiksen, Joachim Held, Martin Jakubíček, Petr Kolař, Ján Krigovský, Bettina Pahn, Marcin Świątkiewicz, Marc Vonau, Marc Hervieux and with ensembles {oh!} Orkiestra Historyczna, Musica Poetica, Ensemble Tourbillon, Ensemble Le Masque, RukyNaDudy, Barocco sempre giovane or with her own ensemble Plaisirs de Musique, of which she is a founding member. She is also the leader of the Tourdion Renaissance flute consort. She participates in the alternative projects Misterios del Amor and Telemannia.

Her profile album Telemannia was released in 2023. She also appears as a guest artist on other CDs (Codex Jacobides, Saint Amour, Hands on the Bagpipes) and radio recordings.

As a teacher with many years of experience, she is often invited to jury competitions and to give presentations and masterclasses throughout Europe. As part of the MusAcad project and privately, she teaches playing and period interpretation on baroque and renaissance traverso. She also works at the Organ School in Brno.
